In this conference Dr. Simonian initially talkes about the way he was introduced to Reich’s work and described how “Orgonomy” was developed from the living nerve of “Libido theory” of Freud. Dr. Simonian then describes the definition of health based on the “Orgonomic Principles” and describes how from an orgonomic point of view a healthy organism is ordained to function. Dr. Simonian states “ Orgonomy is the only discipline that is capable to describe a normal functioning of human psyche based on scientific physiologic principles”. Dr. Simonian says that every culture, every religion, describes how a normal human being should behave based upon their own religious and cultural values, but there is no scientific description of human psychological functioning based on normal and natural physiology of the human organism except orgonomy. Dr. Simonian also states that in psychoanalysis, all humans’ altruistic behavior considered a consequence of sublimation of unconscious perverted impulses. Orgonomy however, is able to penetrate deeper than the human unconscious to the biological core of the organism where in that core there is genuine impulses of love, industriousness and rational hate if required. Dr. Simonian then talkes about orgonomy’s expansion beyond individual personal psychology to sociology and orgonomy’s demand to change social institutions based upon needs of the children. Dr. Simonian describes the physiologically normal functioning of human organism based on observation of the lower animals biological functioning. He describes how in human organism similar apparatus exists and governs by vegetative nervous system which is divided into sympathetic and parasympathetic branches. Sympathetic branch is responsible for contraction and parasympathetic is responsible for expansion. Contraction and expansion alternates regularly by the flow of pulsating energy from center toward the periphery by the vegetative ganglion and nervous system. The concept of health in orgonomy is based on the organism’s ability to produce adequate pulsating energy from the center toward the periphery, its unimpeded propagation of this energy and the organism’s ability to fully discharge the surplus energy. The main mechanism that makes the organism capable of discharging the surplus energy fully, is healthy orgastic function. Dr. Simonian then describes the segmental structure of the lower animals and movement of energy from head to tail in lower animals like worms, which persist in higher animals as well but is inconspicuous. This segmental movement also determines the direction of movement of energy from head to tail in the lower animals that persist in higher animals in an inconspicuous way. Dr. Simonian then states that a healthy organism from an orgonomic point of view, constitutes of an energetic core which generates biophysical energy, orgone, by pulsation and unimpeded flow of this energy from inner ganglions toward the periphery, from the center to the surface and undulating movement from head to pelvis. The energy is constantly produced from the inside toward the outside. The excess energy in normal human organism, like any other organism, is fully discharged most effectively by orgastic convulsions. An organism that produces adequate energy from inside, from within by pulsating energy, propagate the energy to the periphery through the vegetive nervous system unimpeded and discharge excess energy fully, orgonomically is considered to be a healthy organism.
Dr. Simonian then talks about the orgastic function which regulates the energy in the organism and is a universal function and exists in protozoa as well. An organism that is governed by healthy physiological functioning as described above, from an orgonomic point of view, will be a healthy organism and will manifest only good qualities according to the laws of nature. Such person will not be prone to biopathees and as Reich said, will have a “Christ like” qualities. He will be unable to lie, he will have compassion toward the others. In orgonomic terms we will have ability to develop orgonomic contact. In psychoanalytic terms, he will be able to have projective identification based upon his own healthy structure. He will be incapable of sadistic acts. He will be receptive to discussions that will shun antisocial activities. His goals and motives will be socially oriented and he will strive to improve his own life and helps others. Physically, such a person will have strong, well integrated and coordinated body functions with healthy tissues and high immunity to illnesses. Our clinical observation reflects that when under orgone therapy restrictions the orgone energy movement is removed and dissolved, sadistic and destructive impulses evaporate. Dr. Simonian, talks about distortions of this physiological normal function in the human organism. He describes the main pathology which causes distortion as psychological and physical armoring. When orderly flow and discharge of biophysical energy becomes distorted in the human organism a wide range of psychological and physical illnesses manifest in the organism. Dr. Simonian then talks about pathogenesis of armoring which happens because of harsh, punitive, anti-pleasure and anti-sexual upbringing of children. The wide variety of illnesses as a consequence of the disturbance of the flow of the biophysical energy in orgonomy is called “Biopathees”. Dr. Simonian describes some of the symptoms that patients complain of because of a disturbance of the flow of biological energy, orgone, in orderly manner such as a sense of numbness in skin, sense of feeling empty inside or at times feeling as if they will explode or their head will explode which are subjective feelings of the objective orgone immobility. Dr. Simonian then talks about the treatment of distorted organism and by elimination of the armor and restoration of normal flow of pulsating energy in the organism. Dr. Simonian addresses the treatment of patients by physical orgone therapy by orgone accumulator and orgone accumulating devices. At the end of the lecture, Dr. Simonian talks about prevention of the armoring which is entering into social domain of changing social intuitions to serve the needs of children as is described in orgonomy literatures.
